Website Privacy Policy

Review before public release: This policy describes the current website implementation. The production host, exact server logs and retention periods, and email provider and retention still require confirmation.

What this policy covers

This policy covers the Office Chair Butt website, the Guided Desk Movement Break, the Interactive Desk Setup Checker, and educational guides. The separate products have their own policies: iOS app privacy and Chrome extension privacy. Their practices should not be inferred from the website.

The website and hosting

A production host may process technical information, such as an IP address, browser details, requested pages, and access times, to deliver and secure the website. The production host, exact log fields, and retention period have not yet been confirmed.

The current WordPress theme and active free-tools plugin do not include an analytics or advertising integration. A change to hosting, plugins, or services would require this policy to be reviewed.

Free browser tools

The Guided Desk Movement Break builds and times a movement session in your browser tab. Its choices and session progress stay in page memory while the tab is open. Its current code does not send those choices to Office Chair Butt or save a session history in browser storage.

The Interactive Desk Setup Checker uses your answers in the same browser tab to generate setup suggestions. Its current code does not submit answers to the website or save them in browser storage. Reloading or closing the tab clears them. Neither tool creates a health record or provides a medical assessment.

Cookies and browser storage

WordPress may use cookies for site administration and sign-in. Neither free tool uses local or session storage for your choices. No analytics or advertising cookie integration is present in the current site code. Production hosting and future integrations need separate review.

Email messages

The Contact page offers a message form. If you use the form, your name, email address, optional topic, and message are sent through the website’s mail service to our inbox so we can answer you. The current form code does not save message contents in the WordPress database. For abuse prevention, it stores a salted hash of the submitting IP address with a counter for about ten minutes. After successful sending, it also stores a salted fingerprint derived from the email address and message for about ten minutes to detect duplicates. A processing lock is normally removed when sending finishes; if a request is interrupted, a stale lock is cleared on a later submission attempt. The site and its mail provider may process normal delivery metadata. The production mail provider and mailbox retention schedule still need owner confirmation.

Sharing, retention, and deletion

Neither free browser tool transmits your choices to Office Chair Butt or retains them in browser storage. Hosting logs and email correspondence may be handled by service providers, but provider details and retention periods are still being confirmed.
